Job description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Director of Guest Experience to join our team at the Tides Inn. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and curating an exceptional and diverse array of recreational, cultural, and wellness experiences for our discerning guests. The Director will ensure that all activities align with the resorts luxury brand, offering unparalleled guest experience while maintaining the highest standards of service excellence and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Development & Leadership
    • Create and implement innovative and high-quality activity and programming offerings that appeal to a diverse clientele, including adults, families, and groups.
    • Curate a range of experiences that emphasize local culture, wellness, adventure, relaxation, and environmental sustainability.
    • Coordinate the planning and execution of seasonal, signature, and special events to drive guest engagement and satisfaction.
  2. Team Management & Training
    • Lead, train, and develop a team of activity coordinators, instructors, and event staff to deliver exceptional experiences.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, ensuring team members are motivated and aligned with the resorts goals and values.
    • Regularly assess the performance of team members and provide ongoing feedback to enhance their professional growth.
  3. Guest Experience & Satisfaction
    • Ensure that all activities and programming exceed the expectations of our luxury clientele, focusing on personalization and guest satisfaction.
    • Anticipate guest needs, proactively respond to feedback, and resolve any issues to ensure a seamless experience.
    • Maintain a high level of interaction with guests to build relationships and enhance their overall resort experience.
  4. Operational Oversight
    • Develop and manage the budget for the activities and programming department, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high-quality offerings.
    • Oversee the scheduling, logistics, and coordination of daily, weekly, and seasonal activities, ensuring proper staffing and resource allocation.
    • Ensure all activities comply with safety and resort policies and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.

  1. Partnerships & Community Engagement
    • Develop partnerships with local businesses, artisans, and tour operators to enhance the resorts offerings and provide unique experiences.
    • Stay informed about regional trends, seasonal activities, and new offerings to keep the resorts programming fresh and exciting.
  2. Marketing & Promotion
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote activities and events through various resort channels (website, social media, newsletters, etc.).
    • Create compelling content that highlights the resorts programming and helps attract new guests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in hospitality management, Event Planning, Recreation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in hospitality, leisure, or resort programming, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Previous experience in a luxury resort or high-end hospitality environment or luxury cruise ship experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with high-net-worth guests and create lasting impressions.
  • Passion for creating memorable, one-of-a-kind experiences that exceed guest expectations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with event management and scheduling software.
